Rentals may only be booked by an adult who is 25+ with valid photo ID. The person under whom the reservation is booked must be present and remain on the premises for the duration of the stay.
All rentals list a maximum occupancy for onsite guests. Please note: the number of guests is inclusive of both adults and children. Occupancy numbers will vary between vacation rentals - please ensure you are selecting a vacation rental that adequately suits your needs as the occupancy limit cannot be exceeded.
MINIMUM STAY REQUIREMENTS
Yes, all our vacation rentals have minimum stay requirements. All vacation rentals book with the following parameters:
“Mini-weeks” provide check in on Mondays with a check-out on Fridays. (Monday-Friday)
Weekend bookings are Friday check-ins with a check-out on Mondays. (Friday-Monday)
Week-long bookings provide check-ins on Mondays or Fridays only. (Monday to Monday or Friday to Friday)
BOOKING A RENTAL
You can book your vacation rental via the "Vacation Rentals" tab. View our collection of cottages, choose your favorite, and lock in your dates!
Please note you must have a valid credit card or Visa Debit in order to book on our site.
All bookings are subject to: service fees, applicable taxes, and the Sherkston Resort access fee. These costs will be added into your total at check out.
Travel cancellation insurance is not provided by 10001274572 Ontario Inc. but can be purchased through a third-party provider at the guests' own discretion. All costs associated with purchasing insurance are incurred at the guests' expense.
CONFIRMATION OF BOOKING
Upon receipt of payment, you will be issued an electronic receipt via email. This serves as confirmation of your booking and will outline your vacation dates, occupancy, and booking I.D. contract.
Following your online booking confirmation, an electronic contract will be issued via email. The rental contract will be directed from "Docusign". Please ensure you complete the rental contract to finalize your vacation rental booking.
If you do not see the contract in your inbox, please check your junk/spam folder.
CHECKING IN AND OUT
Guests are allowed access to Sherkston Shores Resort at any time on the day of check-in, however your unit will not be ready until the time indicated in your check in guide.
All guests are required to check-out by 10AM on the day of departure.
ACCESSING THE RENTAL
Five (5) days prior to your arrival you will receive an electronic guide outlining how to access your rental. This guide contains all important details for your stay including lock box/door codes, Wi-Fi logins, and resort entrance instructions.
SHERKSTON RESORT REGISTRATION FEE
All occupants aged 6 and over are subject to a resort registration fee of $10 per person. This does not include FunPlex access and is an additional cost.
Please note that third party owned and operated amenities are at an additional cost. These include watersports, adventure course, trampolines, etc.
All damages and losses are recouped from the "Damage Deposit".
A hold will be placed on the credit card used at the time of booking 24 hours prior to your arrival and released 5 business days after departure, provided no damages occur.
* A hold is not a charge to the card - the funds are simply blocked in the event damages occur - to ensure that payment can be captured.
We know that last-minute changes arise, but all of our vacation rentals do require non-refundable payments.
We will do our best to reschedule your vacation, depending on availability.
Vacation Rentals that accept pets (one pet per cottage) are specifically noted in their profile listing. Guests or their visitors who bring a pet to a cottage where it is prohibited will be asked to leave and will forfeit all monies paid for the stay.
* Allergen warning: please be aware that a cottage that does not accept pets, does not necessarily mean it is "pet free". Some owners have pets in their personal cottages but restrict renters from bringing their own.
All vacation rentals are professionally cleaned; however, guests are expected to leave the vacation rental in the same condition in which it was found. Please ensure all contents are returned to their respective spaces and that all waste is removed. The resort is self-catering and guests are responsible for disposing of garbage in the designated garbage depots. Garbage depots are indicated on resort maps and can be distinguished by the white fence and blue signage.
VACATION RENTAL AMMENITIES
All rentals include the following:
- Golf Cart
- Air conditioning
- Fully stocked kitchens including fridge, stove/oven and all dishware, cutlery and utensils
- BBQ with one (1) supplied tank. Tank swaps are available at the on-site convenience store.
- Use of all resort beaches, sport courts and green spaces

The following items are required to be brought by guests for all vacation units as they are not supplied:

* There is an on-site convenience store with extensively stocked items, should guests forget anything.
COTTAGE LIFE AND CRITTERS…
City life is vastly different from Cottage Country. Flying, crawling, scurrying animals and bugs are a part of day-to-day life.
Remember that most critters are more frightened of you than you are of them.
Please do not leave food out overnight, especially outside!
Remember to close patio doors and windows. Chipmunks, squirrels, skunks, mice and ants are not afraid to visit.
Lights at night will attract moths and other insects.
